Khartoum, Oct. 2 (SUNA) - The Federal Health Ministry inaugurated today 21 four-wheel drive vehicles for the center and states provided by the United Nations Population Fund under the slogan "together to accelerate the pace to save the life of a mother and child", in the presence of the representative of the fund, directors of a number of departments and reproductive health officials in the states.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, praised the support provided by the fund, saying that working in the field of health is a great honor, and when it comes to mothers, it becomes more and more honorable.

Dr. Haitham stressed that maternal health comes at the top of the agenda in the service provision program.
For his part, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund, Dr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed affirmed that the support will continue, indicating that Sudan is one of the countries with high rates of maternal and child mortality and that their health is a priority in the Fund's attention to reach global standards and help reduce deaths.
