Khartoum, Sept. 27 (SUNA) – Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Commerce Nadir Al-Hilali met today at the Union’s tower in Khartoum with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sudan, Meer Behrose Regi , within framework of bolstering commercial and economic relations between the two countries.
The two sides agreed that the level of volume of trade exchange between the two countries is still under the ambition compared to the available investment opportunities, referring to the necessity of joint work to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
Al-Hilali said Sudan has begun restoring its historic position in cultivating . Producing and exporting cotton crop and that the country is working to add value added to the product through setting up weaving and textile industries and open door for Pakistani investors to enter into partnerships with the Sudanese private sector to achieve this objective.
The Pakistani ambassador, for his part, indicated that his country imports 14 million bales of cotton annually, saying its useful that the private sectors in Sudan and Pakistan to enter into strategic partnerships in area of cotton industry and exchange of experiences.
He announced that serious work is underway to open joint banks for facilitating economic and trade movement between the two countries.
The meeting also indicated to importance of holding bilateral meetings on various economic, trade and investment fields.
