Khartoum, Sep. 8 (SUNA) - The Acting Minister of Trade and Supply, Amal Saleh Saad, received yesterday in her office Ambassador Al-Rih Haidub, Director of the Department of Economic and Technical Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed with him an initiative of a week and an international exhibition of Sudanese meat to be held at the Khartoum International Fair in the first half of the year 2023.
Ambassador Haidub who was accompanied by Minister Plenipotentiary Essam El-Din Idris gave a detailed explanation of the proposal to hold this event and its objectives which represented in the promotion and development of the livestock sector in general and Sudanese meat in particular as an important economic resource at the forefront of Sudanese exports.
He pointed to the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating between the Ministry of Trade, Livestock, Investment and the private sector, indicating that the week includes pectoral workshops, specialized working papers, inviting investors from several countries and signing memoranda of understanding. For this event is the promotion of Sudanese exports.
The Minister of Trade and Supply welcomed the proposal, stressing the responsibility of the Ministry in promoting Sudanese exports and access to global markets, and organizing and holding exhibitions, noting the Ministry's concern in the infrastructure of the livestock sector, especially the establishment of slaughterhouses and the meat industry and the removal of technical and administrative obstacles in cooperation With the relevant authorities, confirming their full support for this initiative.
