Khartoum, July 17 (SUNA) - The Technical Committee of the Security and Defense Council issued today a statement regarding the border issues between Sudan and Ethiopia.

The statement said within the framework of the talks that were launched between the leadership of Sudan and Ethiopia regarding reaching urgent and permanent solutions to the problems that arise between the two countries in the border areas, and in return for the goodwill measures shown by the Ethiopian side to prevent infiltration of armed elements into Sudanese territory, the Technical Committee of the Security and Defense Council decided in its meeting today, Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the General Command of the Armed Forces, headed by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, and in the presence of the military component of the Transitional Sovereignty Council  opening of Al-Galabat border crossing as of today, July 17, 2022 before movement between the two countries, according to the recognized legal procedures.

The statement said the committee, further, decided intensifying international border control and preventing movement of any armed elements between the two countries, with tight coordination between the two sides.
