Khartoum, June 27(SUNA)-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned with the strongest terms, the heinous crime committed by the Ethiopian army, which violates the principles of international humanitarian law, by killing seven prisoners of Sudanese soldiers and a civilian after they were kidnapped from inside Sudanese territory on June 22, 2022 , taking them into Ethiopian territory, killing them and mutilating their bodies in public.
The Ministry said in a statement, "While the Ministry condemns this inhumane behavior, it would like to remind that Sudan is hosting more than two million Ethiopian citizens who enjoy dignified treatment and share with the Sudanese people its resources and livelihood in generosity and tolerance.".
The Ministry indicated that in order to preserve the sovereignty of our country and the dignity of its citizens, the Ministry has begun to submit an official complaint to the Security Council and the relevant international and regional organizations.
The statement said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would also like to remind that the Government of Sudan reserves the full right guaranteed by the Charter of the United Nations to defend its lands and dignity, and that Sudan will immediately summon its ambassador to Ethiopia for consultations while the Ethiopian ambassador in Khartoum will be summoned to day to inform him of Sudan’s denunciation and condemnation of this inhumane act.
