Khartoum, June 20 (SUNA) -The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdu-Fattah Al-Burhan, received in his office on Monday the General Director of Sudan Cotton Company, Abdalla Ibrahim Ahmed Abu-Alama, and a delegation of the cotton producers, and reviewed the challenges and obstacles facing the cultivation of cotton in Sudan and the preparations for the agricultural season for the year 2022 – 2023.

The meeting affirmed the importance of establishing partnerships with the banks and companies to finance the cotton cultivation and agricultural projects, in a way that restores Sudan to its leading position in the cotton production and competition in global markets.

The Director General of the Sudan Cotton Company stated that he briefed the President of the Sovereignty Council on the company’s work plan, and the challenges facing cotton producers for the agricultural season 2022 – 2023.

He said that the President of the Sovereignty Council directed him to make a portfolio of the cotton crop and build partnerships that contribute to providing technical and logistical support for the success of the cotton cultivation season in the country.
