Khartoum, June 14 (SUNA) - Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabar Al-Mubarak has affirmed the importance of microfinance in achieving aspirations of young people, who represent the backbone of the economic development in the country.
This came when the TSC Member addressed today the opening session of a workshop organized by the Ministry of Social Development at Savings Bank premises, in Khartoum, on the role of microfinance in boosting social development.
Dr. Salma urged think tanks and insurance companies to enter into the field of microfinance to enhance confidence of young people who have a desire of obtaining finance.
Meanwhile, she promised to support the recommendations of the workshop, stressing the importance of training in the field of microfinance.
The Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakhiet, on his part, affirmed his ministry’s concern on microfinance as one of the tools for realizing social justice and enhances social protection for individuals and families.
