Khartoum, June 13 (SUNA) – The Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries has regretted the sinking of the ship Badr (1) at Suakin Port which led to the sinking of more than 12,000 heads of livestock leaving for Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia. sink

The ministry has thanked those who participated in the rescuing of the barge’s technical staff and bringing out the remaining livestock, stressing that the ministry is responsible for health and safety of the herd, in accordance with the international agreements related to the health requirements agreed upon by the importing countries.

On the other hand, the General Administration of Quarantines and Meat Health of the Federal Ministry of Animal Resources announced the exportation of 104,037 heads of sheep to the markets of Saudi Arabia, with an immunity rate ranging between 60 and 98%, during the period from 10 - 13 of June 2022, affirming that efforts will continue in export operations along with addressing to the obstacles and problems in this regard.
